I am married with three grown up children and have lived in the Hastings and Rye Constituency for over twenty years.
I was born and brought up in the North East and studied law. I have had experience in different types of law but more recently family law, which has given me an incredible insight into the difficulties that some families can face.
I became a district councillor for Eastern Rother in 2015 because I thought I could help people locally with my legal training and passion for where I live.
I have been a magistrate in Hastings for nearly fifteen years, which has given me a better understanding of the challenges some people of Hastings and Rye face.
I am currently a school governor for ARK Little Ridge, ARK Blacklands and ARK Castledown in Hastings with a responsibility for improving the achievements of disadvantaged children. Since becoming an academy, ARK Castledown was in the top 1% of most improved schools in England.
We are faced with many challenges as a nation - Brexit being one. I voted to leave and have campaigned ever since to respect the will of the people. I will fight to make sure our historic fishing fleet gets the best post-Brexit deal possible.
We face local challenges, including the need for better transport links, better paid jobs, improving schools for our children, delivering affordable housing and helping rough sleepers in to homes. We must protect the NHS and invest in the Conquest hospital. We must care for our elderly and the vulnerable, crack down on county lines drug gangs and crime. I pledge to do my utmost to address all of these challenges.
It would be an enormous privilege to represent and fight for you so that our community can thrive.

Delivering Brexit
I pledge to support Boris Johnson in honouring the 2016 referendum result and getting us out of the EU.
NHS
I support our NHS and the Conservatives’ pledge to increase NHS spending, including new money being spent on the Conquest Hospital.
The environment
I am proud to support the Conservative government’s targets in reducing our country’s Carbon footprint faster than any other advanced economy.
Schools
The improvement in local schools must continue and I will fight for every child in the Hastings and Rye area to have a great education.
Transport
I will continue the good fight for improvements to our rail and road infrastructure, which will unlock the economic potential of the area.
The local economy
Since 2010 more people are in work than ever before. I will fight for more skilled jobs to come to our area and increase support for businesses in our towns.
